Meet the Team
Katie Lusby
Artistic Director
Katie is a dance and theatre artist based in Falmouth, Cornwall, with a career spanning almost two decades as a performer, educator, and creative collaborator.
From contemporary dance beginnings with companies such as Richard Alston Dance Company and Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures, Katie later found her artistic home in physical theatre through collaborations with internationally acclaimed companies such as Punchdrunk and Gecko, with whom she has continued to collaborate extensively over the past decade. Most recently, Katie worked as Assistant Choreographer on Les Liaisons Dangereuses at the National Theatre.
A passionate advocate for emerging talent, Katie founded Creative Rise Cornwall in 2025 with a desire to bring high-quality training, opportunity, and artistic community to early-career artists in the region.
Zoë Watson
Assistant Producer
Currently a PhD researcher at Falmouth University, Zoë is an interdisciplinary artist and creative meanderer with a background spanning music, movement, textiles, and writing.
She has a deep love for both the arts and learning, having studied at institutions including Falmouth University, West Dean College, London College of Fashion, Herbert Berghof Studio New York, Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance, London School of Economics, and Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
As Assistant Producer for Creative Rise, Zoë is incredibly proud to support the project alongside Katie, and is passionate about nurturing and championing Cornwall’s creative community.
